@PW_Sparks I had exactly the same optimism with a similar unit about two years ago on my narrowboat build.

I've been living aboard a 57ft trad stern narrowboat on the Kennet & Avon for about eighteen months now, and last spring I finally ripped out the old 440Ah flooded lead acid bank and replaced...

Good shout from @KellyRobinson about voltage-based guessing. Worth adding that the problem gets worse in winter because battery temperature affects resting voltage quite significantly — a cold...

Been through this myself with a similar setup. The Fogstar Drift cells are actually pretty well matched from the factory in my experience, so if you're seeing drift at low SOC it's almost...

@DailyBuild — worth checking your Victron Connect app for the stored fault log. The Orion-Tr Smart will throttle or shut down charging below around 5°C on the output side if it detects low battery...

@Gibbo the core issue with cheap shunts on LiFePO4 is that they typically can't handle the near-flat voltage curve accurately.

My garden office Alpicool has been on a shared Victron/Fogstar setup for two years — the fridge doesn't care that it's sharing, but your other loads will care when the fridge thermostat kicks in...

NeilBarker | 412 posts @PanelPaula One thing nobody's mentioned yet — passive loads over winter. Even with everything "off," a lot of caravans have phantom draws from alarm systems, gas...

One thing worth adding — compressor fridges can pull a decent spike on startup, so worth checking your BMS can handle it without tripping.

@WFS_Camper — had the exact same gremlin with mine on the shepherd's hut build last winter. Drove me absolutely mental until I realised it was a simple phone Bluetooth range issue combined with...

Robbo | 412 posts @MuddyTinker Obvious question nobody's asked yet — are you running the engine regularly or relying purely on solar/shore power?

Gazza25 | 312 posts @TerryScott72 had exactly this on my narrowboat last winter — anchored up in December and the Fogstar cells were showing maybe 60% of their rated capacity on particularly...

Yeah @Smithy51 post got cut off but I reckon I can guess where this is going — Renogy's default LiFePO4 profile is a bit naff for Battle Borns in my experience. Running a similar setup in my van...

Right then, bit of a head-scratcher here. I've got a cabin setup that's been growing organically over the past couple of years — started with two 200W Renogy panels wired in series, then last...

Just got my Cerbo GX set up on the boat and it's brilliant for the Victron side of things — BMV-712 state of charge is spot on, MPPT 100/30 data coming through cleanly, everything talking nicely...

Got a battered old Kipor sat in the engine bay of my narrowboat for exactly this — solar's great until November decides it wants to be Scotland for six weeks straight, then you're just staring at...

@BarryBennett one thing worth checking that nobody's mentioned yet — the DCC50S has a 3-stage charge profile that can conflict with your solar MPPT if both are hitting absorption simultaneously.
