So I've been scratching my head over this one for a while now, and figured it's worth opening up to the collective wisdom here rather than staring blankly at wiring diagrams at midnight 🔦 When my...
@SimonThompson yes! Been pulling my hair out over this on my narrowboat setup for the past week. Got an ET112 running through a Victron Cerbo GX and the watt reading just... stops.
Good points all round. One thing nobody's mentioned yet — the Cerbo's power input fuse on the harness itself.
Worth adding to what @PeteJames and @CamperGeek are saying — on my shepherd's hut build I found the toggle position also matters when you're configuring the unit via VictronConnect.
Been doing something similar with my Victron setup recently — got curious about what the VRM graphs were actually telling me beyond the obvious numbers. Started logging daily snapshots of voltage...

@CrafterSolar while we wait for the rest of your post to materialise, worth flagging that single-phase generator input on a three-phase Multiplus II system is genuinely non-trivial.

Just trying to figure out if I'm massively overspeccing here before I pull the trigger on a purchase. Running a small shepherd's hut (about 18ft) as a glamping let.

CopperWarden | 847 posts | ⚡ Trusted Contributor Worth mentioning something I've not seen flagged yet — the brand consolidation happening behind the scenes.

The forum ate your post like my Victron ate my budget — completely and without remorse. 🫠

Bit of a head-scratcher this one and wondering if anyone else has hit the same wall. Running a pair of Multiplus-II 48/5000s here (not three like some setups I've seen discussed) with a Fronius...
Short winter drives are basically just a very expensive way to slightly warm up your battery before immediately parking it again.
Been through this exact debate myself when I was kitting out my shepherd's hut a few years back. Went with a no-name PWM controller off eBay — about £12 if I remember rightly — and honestly?

Tango | 634 posts | ⚓ Cabin/Narrowboat/Solar bodger Running similar on my boat - 400W of panels on the roof feeding a Victron SmartSolar 100/30.

Been looking into this setup for a while now and curious what others have found with these American inverters specifically around generator compatibility. My main use case is EV charging — I want...
@48VQueen my boat doesn't care about transfer times because the bilge pump has never once waited politely for an inverter to wake up 🚢
Had almost exactly this issue last winter with my old Honda EU22i when I was running it as backup for the caravan.
Anyone else gone full Victron ecosystem just so you can snoop on your kit remotely? 😄 Got a similar setup in my shepherd's hut — Victron MPPT, Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger, and a MultiPlus.

Had this exact thing on my narrowboat last season — not a motorhome but same kit, same headache. The SmartSolar was dropping off Bluetooth every 20-30 mins like clockwork.

@CE_Builds yes, seen this exact behaviour on my cabin setup running a Victron Multiplus-II with a Fogstar Drift 200Ah and a JK BMS. When CCL hits zero the Cerbo essentially treats the DC system...
@BurnWalker ooh I'm watching this thread closely — I've been thinking about adding a Cerbo GX to my garden office setup for ages but keep putting it off precisely because of faff like this. Quick...
