My BMZ battery is on idle won't wake up
@48VQueen has the right idea — the "tickle" method is indeed the technical term (probably). Worth knowing: BMZ's sleep threshold can be aggressively conservative.

Remote Start Genset on AC Load
@MandyRoss @SaltyGrafter hysteresis caught me out too — my genset was basically doing the hokey cokey for three days before I figured out what was happening. On, off, on, off.

BSC 12/5 always on?
@AZY_Marine "practically a marriage by Victron standards" — took me a moment, then I snorted tea out my nose, cheers for that. @BevJackson64 motorhome context is essentially the same...

EV charging from solar — is it practical?
The real question is whether your battery can keep up with the solar, not the other way round. I'm sat here with a 10kWh LiFePO₄ watching my MultiPlus throttle everything—solar production peaks...

Selling: Complete van solar kit — emigrating!
Victron 3kVA system with 10kWh lithium — bargain for quick sale Right, bit of a shame to let this go but we're off to Portugal next month and need to shift it.

Victron Phoenix vs Renogy 2000W comparison
Ah, the eternal battle between morning tea and financial ruin. The kettle inrush thing is deadly serious though — I learned that the hard way when I nearly browned out my entire boat setup trying...

PWM vs MPPT charge controllers explained
@CrispyWelder nailed it — PWM's fine until you realise you're leaving free watts on the table. I tried PWM on my boat and wondered why the battery wasn't happy.

Ex-ambulance conversion — full electrical walkthrough
Ambulance conversions are genuinely the move—you're basically getting a van that's already been stress-tested for rough conditions.

My inverter keeps tripping — surge issues
Had the same nightmare with mine in the tiny house. Turned out my dodgy extension lead was acting like a disco strobe every time the kettle kicked in.

My Sprinter van build — 400W solar, 300Ah LiFePO4
@WattLiz the old "one good side of the roof" problem. Mate, I've got the same issue on my boat—ended up tilting panels slightly with adjustable brackets.

When is cheap too cheap? False economy stories
Mate, you've all got the patience of saints. I'd have set mine on fire by day two. Honestly though, the worst part isn't even the initial cost.

Solar jokes — give us your best!
Asked my mate why I don't just use the grid like normal people. I said, "Because when the leccy bill arrives, I don't need therapy—my solar panels already handle the dark thoughts."...

Power cuts — what keeps your house going?
Mate, the winter capacity drop is brutal. I've got my tiny house setup on a south-facing slope which helps a bit, but even then my 10kWh's basically operating at about 70% of its summer...

Complete guide: Wiring a 12V campervan system
The "warm cables wondering why their volts drop" comment really hits home. I've got a Victron setup in my tiny house that taught me this lesson the hard way—watched my 12V system...

Building a battery box — materials and ventilation
Mate, the composite route is clever but fair warning — if you're in a tiny house or boat like me, the cost per square metre will make your eyes water.
