Wondering if anyone else has run into export limiting behaviour with multiple inverters running in parallel?
I've got a similar situation to what I've seen discussed elsewhere — running parallel Victron Quattros and noticing the system seems to throttle back PV generation once grid export hits a certain threshold, even though the inverters themselves are rated for considerably more continuous output.
In my case it's relevant because the garden office draw is fairly predictable, but when the static caravan is empty and the EV isn't charging, virtually everything wants to push back to the grid — and that's exactly when the curtailment kicks in.
My suspicion is this is either:
- Grid export limiting configured in VEConfigure or via the DVCC settings on the Cerbo GX
- MPPT throttling — the 450/200s will back off harvest if the system has nowhere to put the power
- A DNO export limit baked into the inverter configuration at install time
Worth checking your ESS assistant settings if you're on Victron — there's a Maximum feed-in power field that might be set lower than your theoretical combined output. Also check whether Limit inverter power is ticked.
On a three-phase setup the maths gets a bit murkier because the export measurement is taken across all phases, so even if individual phases look fine the aggregate trips the limit.
Has anyone managed to properly tune this on a large parallel string without compromising the MPPT behaviour? Curious whether Fogstar or other battery configurations affect how aggressively the system curtails.
