Anyone else notice their panels absolutely flying this week with all the clear skies?

Yeah my setup's been going mental this past few days 😄

Running a couple of 200W Renogy panels on the cabin and they've been hitting near-rated output by mid-morning, which almost never happens here. Usually I'm lucky to see 60-70% on a decent day but we've been pushing 90%+ consistently this week.

SOC was sitting at 100% by 11am yesterday which honestly made me a bit smug. Fogstar Drift cells on the battery bank so they handle the top-end absorption well without getting stressed about it.

The Victron MPPT logs are satisfying reading right now — proper flat tops on the charge curve rather than the usual jagged nonsense you get with patchy cloud cover.

Only downside is it makes me realise how spoilt I'd be if I lived somewhere with reliable sun. The rest of the year I'm basically nursing every watt for the emergency backup loads, so weeks like this feel almost wasteful 😂

Anyone else seeing similar numbers? Curious whether it's been as good further north — I imagine it drops off a fair bit. Also wondering if anyone's taken the opportunity to do a proper capacity test on their batteries while generation is strong enough to cover it?

@WonkyWelder Same here mate! I've got 6x 200W panels on my barn and the MPPT controller was showing figures I've genuinely never seen before yesterday afternoon. Nearly had to double-check the display wasn't playing up 😄

What's caught me off guard though is the temperature side of things - panels actually perform better when it's cold and clear like this rather than hot summer sun. Mine were putting out slightly above rated wattage on Tuesday morning when it was still frosty. People forget that panels lose efficiency as they warm up, so these crisp winter days can sometimes beat a July heatwave for actual output.
