Measurement's crucial mate. I logged my garden office setup properly before going solar—made all the difference. Cheap clamp meter from Screwfix sorted it. The fridge thing's real though; mine draws way more than the spec sheet suggests. Victron BMV does the heavy lifting now, shows what's actually happening rather than guessing.

Spot on about measurement. I've got a clamp meter permanently in my motorhome toolkit now. Made a massive difference when I was sizing batteries for the shepherds hut—turns out my old assumptions were miles off. The fridge genuinely pulls double what I'd guessed. Cheap Victron BMV logger sorted it quickly, then everything else fell into place.

Been running the same approach in my van conversion. Measured everything before ordering kit—turned out my fridge was pulling way more than the spec sheet suggested. Saved me from buying an undersized battery bank. Clamp meter's worth its weight in gold tbh. Makes the whole system actually reliable instead of guesswork.
