Been having a similar head-scratcher with my Victron DESS setup here, though I'm in the UK rather than Czech Republic — so interesting to see this isn't purely a regional quirk.
Over the past week or so I've noticed the day-ahead Agile pricing data (pulling from Octopus via the DESS integration) is loading noticeably late — sometimes 45–60 minutes behind schedule, occasionally failing to fetch entirely until I manually trigger a refresh through the VRM portal. When you're trying to optimise overnight charging for the shepherd's hut and keep enough reserve for EV top-ups the following morning, a timing delay like that genuinely cascades into poor scheduling decisions.
A few things I've checked so far:
- VRM portal connectivity — solid, no dropouts on my end
- Cerbo GX firmware — on the latest stable build
- API call logs — seeing occasional timeout errors that resolve themselves, which suggests something upstream rather than my local kit
My suspicion is it's a backend pricing-data aggregation issue on Victron's side rather than anything network-local — possibly the same root cause affecting multiple regions including Czech. The DESS pricing engine presumably pulls from various day-ahead market APIs, and if one aggregation layer hiccups, everyone downstream suffers regardless of country.
Has anyone else in the UK on Octopus Agile + DESS seen this recently? And does anyone know whether Victron publish any kind of status page for DESS backend services? I've not found one — their support comms around this seem quite opaque compared to, say, how Fogstar handles firmware issues.
Would be good to pool data points across regions to work out if this is genuinely widespread.
