Interesting bit of kit but this feels very much like overkill territory for most folks on here — we're talking commercial/light industrial scale, not your average off-grid cabin or shepherd's hut setup 😄
That said, I've been keeping an eye on DEYE's trajectory and they've come a long way from their early hybrid inverter days. The BOS-B units are genuinely impressive on paper. 215kWh of LiFePO4 in a pre-integrated cabinet is a neat solution if you're trying to avoid the horror of racking individual cells yourself.
A few things I'd want to know before touching one though:
- UK grid compliance — does it hold the relevant G98/G99 approvals or are you flying blind on DNO sign-off?
- BMS communication — how does it talk to the inverter stack? Proprietary protocol or can you interrogate it properly via Modbus/CAN?
- Thermal management — 215kWh in a cabinet generates serious heat under heavy discharge. Active cooling or passive?
The 200kW MPPT is the headline figure that raises an eyebrow. That's a lot of array. What's the realistic application — farm diversification, commercial holiday let complex, small industrial site?
For comparison, my own setup is embarrassingly modest next to this (Victron Multiplus-II + Fogstar Drift cells in the hut), so I'm largely watching from the cheap seats here.
Anyone actually got hands-on experience with DEYE's larger BOS units deployed in the UK? Curious whether the after-sales support holds up when something goes sideways at this scale — that's always where the Chinese brands live or die domestically.
