Interesting setup — that's a serious bit of kit for a cabin build. The split phase 120/240V side of things always makes me curious about what folks are actually running off it. Presume you're in a North American-style setup rather than straight UK 230V single phase?
The 15kWh LiFePO4 side is where I'd want to dig into the details though. Is that a purpose-built pack or are you stacking cells yourself? I've been down the DIY route with my cabin using Fogstar cells and a Daly BMS, and whilst it works, there's always that nagging question of whether the BMS and inverter are actually talking to each other properly via CAN bus or just operating independently.
With Easun specifically, I've seen mixed reports on their BMS communication protocols. Victron stuff integrates beautifully with most quality packs, but the lesser-known Chinese inverter brands can be a bit hit-and-miss when it comes to proper charge control handshaking.
A few things I'd love to know:
- What cells are in the battery pack?
- Are you getting proper BMS-to-inverter communication, or running it open-loop?
- What's your solar array look like feeding into 12kW of inverter capacity?
That inverter wants a healthy amount of panels to make sense economically. Would be good to hear how it's all performing together — these hybrid systems are getting genuinely tempting for larger cabin builds.
