Tempting price but I've been down the "cheap LiFePO4 from a brand I can't pronounce" rabbit hole before and my motorhome ended up with a very expensive paperweight bolted under the bed. 🙃
The real question nobody asks upfront: what's the actual BMS spec? Continuous discharge rating, cell balancing tolerance, low-temp cutoff — because at £112-ish equivalent you're either getting a genuinely decent budget cell or someone's playing fast and loose with the capacity claims. Probably the latter.
For context I'm running Fogstar Drift cells in my van and yes I paid more, but I know what I've got and they've been flawless through two winters parked up on a Scottish hillside (don't ask).
A few things worth digging into before anyone clicks "add to basket":
- Are the cells actually Grade A or is that just marketing fluff?
- What's the cycle life claim and is there any independent verification?
- Does it play nicely with Victron kit? (Because half of us are using SmartShunts or MPPTs)
- UK import duties — that dollar sign hides a sting at customs
If someone's already got one on a test rig with a proper load tester I'd love to see the actual capacity numbers rather than the sticker number. Real-world data always tells a different story.
