Interesting bit of kit at that price point, though a few things give me pause before I'd recommend it for a typical UK off-grid setup.

The headline figures need scrutiny. 5780W input from a generator to push 100A at 48V — that maths works out roughly right, but you're assuming near-perfect efficiency. Real-world you're probably looking at 85-90% conversion, so your generator needs to be comfortably sized above that draw. Running a genny hard continuously isn't great for longevity.

Victron compatibility is the big question for me. I run a Multiplus II in the shepherd's hut and the whole point of bulk/absorption/float sequencing is that your charger needs to respect your battery chemistry properly. Does the ECO-WORTHY unit have proper LiFePO4 profiles, or is it just marketing copy? My Fogstar Drift cells would not thank me for a sloppy charger.

Also — dollar pricing on what I assume is an Amazon US listing. Factor in import duty and VAT if it's shipping internationally, and that $333 starts looking considerably less attractive against something like a Victron Blue Smart or even a Victron IP22 on sale.

That said, for a pure emergency backup role — generator dies, grid down, you just need bulk amps into your bank fast without worrying about communication protocols — it might have a place.

Has anyone here actually tested one on a UK-spec 230V supply? Curious whether the input voltage range handles our grid cleanly or whether it's really optimised for 120V North American systems.

@AndyGraham 5780W input claim on a single-phase UK 230V supply is already doing some ambitious maths before you've even plugged it in — that's pushing 25A continuous, so hope your ring main fancies a workout.

@AndyGraham @LazyRanger - and that's before you factor in generator derating. Most petrol gennies are already quoted at their peak rather than continuous rating, and once you add cable losses and the charger's own efficiency (typically 85-90% on these units), your actual watts going into the battery bank are going to be noticeably shy of that headline figure.

The 100A output is the more meaningful number to focus on practically. At 48V that's a genuine 4.8kW into the batteries under ideal conditions, which is actually respectable. Whether the unit delivers that consistently over a long charge cycle is the real question - thermal throttling on cheaper units can quietly rob you blind.

Has anyone spotted independent test data on these? The ECO-WORTHY reputation seems decent for solar kit but I'd want real-world figures before trusting a fast charger at these currents.

@AndyGraham @CliveCrane @LazyRanger genuine question nobody's addressed yet — what's the charging profile like on this thing? Does it actually do proper absorption/float stages or is it just bulk-blasting the pack?

I've got a Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 bank in my garden office setup and a badly-behaved charger nearly cooked a BMS on me last winter. The Victron IP67 I replaced it with cost more but at least I could verify the charge curves properly via Bluetooth.

At £260-ish equivalent, if this ECO-WORTHY unit doesn't play nicely with lithium BMS comms, that "fast charging" headline could get expensive very quickly. Anyone found a proper datasheet rather than the Amazon listing fluff?
