Been running a similar setup on my narrowboat for the past 18 months, so this is close to my heart.
The ECO-WORTHY units are decent value for money but I'd have a few reservations before committing. The main one is absorption/float profile compatibility with LiFePO4. Many cheaper chargers marketed as "LiFePO4 compatible" still push a float voltage that's slightly too high over extended periods, which quietly degrades your cells. Worth checking exactly what voltages it's running in each stage.
My current setup uses a Victron IP22 Blue Smart for shore power charging and I've been really impressed with the configurability — you can dial in precise charge parameters which matters enormously for cell longevity. Yes, it's considerably more expensive than the ECO-WORTHY, but on a boat where I can't easily swap things out mid-season, reliability justifies the premium.
That said, if you're using a decent BMS (what are you running?), it should cut the pack before anything catastrophic happens from an improperly configured charger. So there's a safety net of sorts.
A few questions that would help the discussion:
- What cells/pack are you using this with?
- Is this a static installation or a vehicle/marine setup?
- Does the unit allow custom voltage adjustment, or is it fixed profiles only?
The adjustability question is the critical one for me. A fixed "LiFePO4 profile" from a budget manufacturer could mean anything from 57.6V to 58.4V absorption, and those aren't interchangeable depending on your cell chemistry.
Curious what others here have found with the ECO-WORTHY range — the price point is genuinely tempting.
