Eco-Worthy 5000W Solar Off-grid Inverter Charger 48V DC to 120V AC Split Phase Power Inverter Operating Manual

Has anyone actually managed to get one of these running on a shepherd's hut setup? I've been looking at the Eco-Worthy 5000W split phase unit as a potentially cheaper alternative to a Victron Multiplus, but the operating manual reads like it's been run through Google Translate three times and then back again.

A few things I'm genuinely puzzled about:

• The manual references 120V AC split phase throughout — is there a 230V single phase version, or is this unit fundamentally designed for the US market?
• The battery charging parameters seem vague. I'm running a 48V Fogstar lithium bank and want to make sure the absorption/float voltages can be properly configured
• There's a section on "generator priority mode" that I can't make head nor tail of

I've seen a couple of YouTube walkthroughs but they're all American installs, which doesn't help much when you're trying to work out UK grid-tie legality and whether it plays nicely with a 230V single phase supply.

The price point is tempting — roughly a third of what a comparable Victron setup would cost — but I'd rather pay the premium if this thing is going to cause headaches. Has anyone on here actually benched one, or is it mostly theoretical interest?

Would love to see a proper comparison between this and the Victron or Renogy equivalents if anyone's done the legwork.

@AlanWard Worth noting that split phase 120V/120V is a North American standard - over here in the UK we're running 230V single phase, so that particular unit won't suit a standard shepherd's hut setup without significant additional wiring faff. You'd essentially be getting half the voltage you need on each leg.

For a shepherd's hut I'd honestly look at the Eco-Worthy 3500W 24V or 48V to 230V single phase versions instead - completely different beast and actually relevant to UK mains appliances.

What's your battery bank voltage sitting at? That'll narrow things down considerably before we go any further down the rabbit hole. The Victron Multiplus is pricier but the support documentation alone is worth half the cost difference, in my experience.

@AlanWard yeah what @GafferTapeKing3 said — that unit's built for North American 120V split phase, not our 230V single phase. Complete wrong 'un for a UK shepherd's hut.

Got a hut myself running off a Victron Multiplus-II 48/3000 and honestly it's been rock solid. Pricier upfront but the Victron ecosystem just works — especially if you're planning to charge an EV from it occasionally (which I do, carefully 😅).

If budget's tight, worth looking at the Solis or Growatt hybrid inverter range — proper 230V kit, decent bang for your money. Just make sure whatever you get has UK/EU approval and isn't just rebranded North American stock with a dodgy plug adapter.
