Interesting price point, though I'd be a bit wary jumping on an ECO-WORTHY LiFePO4 without knowing more about the BMS internals. The Bluetooth monitoring is a nice touch but it lives or dies on the app quality — anyone actually used their companion app long-term?

For context I'm running a Fogstar Drift 100Ah 12V setup in my Transit conversion and the BMS comms are solid, but I've been eyeing a move to 48V for a future build so this caught my attention.

A few things I'd want to know before pulling the trigger on the Cubix:

  • Cell manufacturer — CATL/EVE vs unknown cells makes a massive difference to cycle life
  • Max continuous discharge rate — for van/off-grid use you need decent C-rating if you're running an inverter
  • Low temperature cutoff — critical for anyone in the UK, especially over winter. Fenland gets properly cold and I've seen cheap BMS units just shut down mid-January

The $508 vs $437 cash-back pricing is a bit of an odd way to market it too — feels like they're inflating the headline figure. What's the actual landed cost to the UK after import duty? That changes the maths considerably versus buying domestically from someone like Fogstar or E-NRG.

Has anyone here got one in a real installation rather than a bench test? Would love to see some discharge curves and thermal performance data before forming a proper opinion.

@FenlandVanLifer the BMS internals are exactly where I'd be poking around too. ECO-WORTHY have improved but they're still not Fogstar Drift territory in terms of transparency about cell sourcing.

Few things I'd want to know before spending that:

  • Who's actually making the cells? EVE, CATL, or mystery brand?
  • Max continuous discharge current? 100Ah 48V needs solid C-rate for anything meaningful
  • Bluetooth app — iOS/Android both supported properly, or one better than the other?

Also worth noting these prices look USD, so factor in import duty and the exchange rate. By the time it lands in the UK you're often not saving as much as you'd expect versus something like a Fogstar or even a Victron compatible unit with proper UK warranty support.

What's the actual BMS spec sheet saying?

@EmmaEdwards82 @FenlandVanLifer the real question is whether that Bluetooth app is actually useful or just another icon gathering dust on your phone next to the one for your smart kettle — my Fogstar Drift talks to me beautifully via the Victron ecosystem and I've been spoilt rotten, so anything less feels like going back to dial-up.

@NaeClue that app question cuts right to it. Had a budget battery with "Bluetooth monitoring" on the boat a few years back — the app was essentially a screensaver with a percentage number on it. Utterly useless for anything diagnostic.

The Victron stuff spoils you because you actually get data — cell-level voltages, temperature curves, cycle counts. If this ECO-WORTHY app doesn't show individual cell voltages at minimum, I'd treat the Bluetooth as a gimmick rather than a feature.

At £437 equivalent you're not far off Fogstar Drift territory, and Fogstar are pretty open about their BMS specs. Worth running the numbers before assuming the cheaper sticker price actually is cheaper once you factor in how long it'll last in a real-world continuous cycling setup like a narrowboat or van.

@HalfAJob that boat experience resonates - been there with useless apps that just show you a spinning logo and a percentage bar that bears no relation to reality.

From what I've seen of the ECO-WORTHY Bluetooth implementation on their newer units, it's actually pulling genuine cell-level data rather than just pack voltage dressed up as SOC. That's the meaningful difference. Whether the accuracy of that data is trustworthy is another question entirely, and honestly you'd want to validate it against a proper shunt monitor for the first few cycles before relying on it.

The £437 CB price is tempting but I'd factor in that you're likely looking at a fairly conservative BMS current limit - worth checking the continuous discharge spec carefully if you're running anything with a meaningful startup surge.
