Penetrations are where most folk come unstuck. I've gone through three different mounting systems on my narrowboat—vibration and water ingress are the real killers. Use proper butyl tape or Sikaflex, not silicone. Also worth checking if your motorhome's roof can actually handle distributed load; older vans often can't. Roof condition matters more than the actual mount.
