Has anyone managed to get proper comms working between one of these Humsienk wallmount units and an EG4 6000xp? I picked up a 48V 100Ah a few months back and whilst the battery itself seems to perform well enough, I can't get the BMS data to talk properly with the inverter.
I've been through the usual RS485 settings and tried various protocols in the EG4 menu but nothing's sticking. The inverter just defaults to generic battery mode rather than reading the actual SoC and cell data from the BMS. Not ideal when you're trying to manage charge cycles properly.
A few questions:
- Has anyone confirmed which protocol Humsienk actually uses? Their documentation is vague at best
- Is there a specific cable pinout I should be trying? I've seen mentions of the standard Pylontech RS485 pinout working with some no-name Chinese packs
- Would a BMS replacement (something like a Daly or JK) be worth considering at this point?
I'm running the EG4 alongside a Victron SmartShunt for monitoring, so I can at least see what's happening on that side, but proper inverter-BMS integration would make the whole setup much cleaner.
The battery itself holds voltage well and I've had no thermal issues, so I don't think it's a hardware problem as such — more a comms configuration headache. Would be good to hear from anyone who's cracked this with similar budget Chinese wallmount batteries, even if it's not the exact same brand.
