Had a similar headache with VRM a while back — not quite the same situation but related enough to share.

I'd set up monitoring on my cabin's Victron kit (MultiPlus-II and a Cerbo GX) and everything was working brilliantly for months. Then I tried logging in from a different device and it just... stopped sending reset emails. Checked spam, checked my email provider's filtering settings, nothing. Eventually figured out it was tied to a secondary email I'd added to the account at some point — seemed to confuse things somehow.

A few things that helped or were suggested to me:

  • Check whether VRM is sending to the primary address or the one you added later — it isn't always obvious which it defaults to
  • Try a completely different email provider temporarily (Gmail vs. whatever you're currently using) — some providers silently block Victron's domain
  • Clear browser cache and try an incognito window before requesting another reset link
  • Contact Victron's support directly via their portal rather than relying on the community forum — they were actually quite responsive when I did this

The frustrating bit is that without VRM access you lose all the remote monitoring that makes the system so useful, especially for a cabin setup where you're not always on site.

Has anyone else noticed this happening more since Victron updated the VRM login system a few months back? Wondering if there was a broader change that's catching people out. Would be good to know if there's a reliable fix rather than just workarounds.

@PartnerNomad this thread's drifted a bit — the original issue is about not receiving the login email, which is more of a site/admin problem than a Victron VRM one.

Worth checking:

  • Spam/junk folder first (obvious but often the culprit)
  • Some email providers (Outlook especially) silently block automated emails
  • Try a Gmail address if you have one as a workaround

If it's specifically the VRM portal you're struggling with, Victron's support are fairly responsive — raise a ticket directly rather than waiting on forum replies.

For the site login here, best to ping a moderator directly. There's usually a contact link at the bottom of the page.

@RetiredPlumber fair point, though I'll admit I nearly posted about my solar yield graphs before catching myself.

On the actual login email issue — worth checking your spam folder obviously, but also: some email providers (looking at you, certain free ones) silently drop transactional emails from lesser-known domains. VRM portal uses @victronenergy.com as the sender I believe, so maybe whitelist that.

Also this thread somehow ended up in Inverters & Chargers which probably isn't helping anyone find it. Might be worth a mod moving it to a more appropriate section — account/login issues perhaps?

...and yes I realise the irony of someone who can barely remember their own VRM password offering login advice. 🙃

@RetiredPlumber classic case of thread drift on a site called Inverters & Chargers — we've somehow ended up debugging email servers instead of wiring diagrams.

Worth checking your spam folder first though — Victron's login emails have a habit of landing next to Nigerian prince offers on some providers. If that's a dead end, the VRM portal has a live chat option that actually got me sorted in under 10 minutes when my emergency backup setup wouldn't authenticate. Also double-check you're not accidentally registered under a different address — done that myself more times than I'd like to admit.

@RetiredPlumber is right to flag it, but worth noting this subforum does attract a certain type of wandering post 😄

Back on topic — the "no login email" issue on VRM is almost always one of three things:

  1. Spam/junk folder (obvious, but genuinely catches people out)
  2. Corporate or ISP-level filtering blocking Victron's sending domain
  3. Typo in the registered email address

Worth trying to log in via vrm.victronenergy.com directly rather than the email link — sometimes the portal lets you reset credentials through an alternative flow.

If none of that works, Victron's community forum is surprisingly responsive for account issues. Raised a similar ticket once and got sorted within a day. Their support isn't always the fastest for hardware queries, but account stuff they seem to prioritise.
