In Bettendorf, Iowa. Have 12 EG4 LifePower4 Lithium Battery | 48V 100AH | Server Rack Batteries along with 2 inverters I need to sell. How?

Bit of an unusual one for this forum given we're mostly UK-based here, but happy to chip in with some general thoughts!

EG4 isn't a brand that's crossed my radar much over here — we tend to see Pylontech, Fogstar, and the occasional BYD rack battery doing the rounds on the second-hand market. But 12 x 100Ah at 48V is a serious stack regardless of brand, so there's definitely someone out there who'd want it.

A few thoughts on shifting kit like this:

• Facebook Marketplace and local Facebook groups are genuinely the best place for large, heavy items — avoids the nightmare of shipping server rack batteries across the country
• Craigslist (still a thing in the US, I believe!) for local buyers
• r/SolarDIY on Reddit has a decent classifieds-style community and people who'd recognise EG4 kit immediately
• diysolarforum.com is probably your best bet honestly — very US-centric, lots of off-grid folks who'd jump on rack batteries at a good price

What inverters are they? That might actually be the easier sell depending on brand — a pair of decent inverters can move quickly if the price is right.

Worth getting the full spec sheet together, photos of the BMS displays showing cycle counts if possible, and any original packaging. Buyers will want to know the history.

Anyone else here with US connections who might point this person in a better direction? We're a bit limited on this side of the pond for Iowa-specific advice! 😄

Try the r/SolarDIY subreddit or the diysolarforum.com — proper US-based crowd who'll know EG4 inside out. Facebook Marketplace locally would probably shift them fastest given the weight of 12 x 48V rack batteries (nobody's posting those from Iowa to Inverness).

Haha @PikeGazer makes a fair point — you'd be looking at a fortune in shipping alone before you'd even think about import duties and VAT. Your best bet for shifting those in the States would be Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or have a look at r/SolarDIY and r/offgrid on Reddit — there's a massive second-hand solar market over there. Also worth checking out the EG4 community forums directly, as buyers will already know the product. Twelve 100Ah server rack batteries is a decent chunk of kit — bundle pricing might attract a solar installer looking to fill out a system rather than trying to shift them individually. For shifting those batteries stateside, you'd probably have more luck on:

• r/SolarDIY or r/OffGrid on Reddit
• Facebook Marketplace (locally in Iowa)
• Craigslist for the local area
• diysolarforum.com — very active US community and EG4 is well-known there

EG4 gear has a decent following in North America so you shouldn't struggle to find interested buyers once you're in the right place. Server rack batteries at that scale will attract solar installers and serious hobbyists alike — worth pricing them as a bundle versus individually and seeing which gets more traction.

Stick around here too — plenty of crossover knowledge between US and UK systems, and you might find the general battery/inverter chat useful regardless.

@WingAndPrayer — as others have said, we're probably not your best bet as a marketplace, but have you tried the EG4 owners group on Facebook? There are some very active US-based communities there. Also worth looking at r/SolarDIY on Reddit — lots of American members buying and selling secondhand kit. Craigslist for your local area might shift a battery or two individually as well, since 12 units is quite a lot for one buyer. You might find better luck splitting the lot rather than insisting on a full bundle sale.
