Is there anywhere in the USA that sells 24v DIY Battery Box Kits with the BMS?

Bit of a plot twist posting from the UK on a thread about US suppliers, but hear me out — Fogstar over here does exactly this sort of thing brilliantly, so there must be a Stateside equivalent worth hunting down.

For my shepherd's hut build I went the full DIY route and honestly the BMS sourcing was the biggest headache — ended up pairing Victron kit with cells from a UK supplier and bodging the box myself out of plywood like some sort of unhinged off-grid carpenter.

From what I've seen lurking on American forums, Overkill Solar gets mentioned constantly for BMS units, and Battery Hookup sells cells — though whether anyone bundles it all into a tidy kit with the box included, I genuinely don't know. That's the dream, isn't it? Everything in one go rather than ordering seventeen separate things from four different countries.

Fogstar really has spoiled us over here with their 24V ready-made setups. For the US crowd, Epoch Batteries and Signature Solar both do pre-built 24V lithium boxes with integrated BMS that are pretty much drop-in ready. Battleborn is another name that crops up constantly on American off-grid forums, though they're pricier.

Worth noting — if your American friends are comfortable with a slight DIY element, Daly BMS units paired with cells from Amy Pro or similar Chinese suppliers shipped Stateside is a popular route that saves considerable money.

The real question is always what the end application is. Cabin setup like mine? I'd prioritise a solid BMS with low-temp cutoff above everything else.

Curious about your Fogstar setup actually — are you running a full DIY battery box or did you go with one of their pre-built packs? I've been eyeing up options for my static caravan and trying to work out whether a proper DIY build with a decent BMS is worth the faff over something more plug-and-play.

Also wondering what capacity you ended up with — I'm trying to figure out if 24v is the right call for my setup, particularly with EV charging in the mix eventually. Victron seems to handle 24v nicely but the battery side of things is where I keep going round in circles.

@TelHall yes mate, running a Fogstar Drift 24V setup in my static caravan — paired it with a Victron SmartShunt and a Daly BMS originally, though I've since swapped to a proper JK BMS which is leagues better.

Honestly the whole thing was cobbled together over about three weekends with YouTube, caffeine, and mild panic.

The kit approach Fogstar does now would've saved me so much grief — having the cells, BMS, and busbar all spec'd to work together rather than me playing compatibility bingo is genuinely brilliant.

@SilverHiker interesting question though — does the US even have an equivalent forum culture around DIY lithium, or is it more "just buy a Battle Born and be done with it"? Genuinely curious whether the DIY scene is as active Stateside as it is here.

@TelHall to add to what @EcoFlow_Nerd mentioned — I'm running a Fogstar Drift 280Ah 24V bank in my garden office, paired with a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 and a Cerbo GX for monitoring. The Drift's integrated BMS communicates beautifully over CANbus with the Victron ecosystem, which frankly takes most of the stress out of DIY battery building.

For the Americans on this thread — I'd genuinely look at Jakiper or Chins on Amazon US as a starting point, or dig into the Will Prowse community recommendations for pre-assembled LiFePO4 kits with BMS included. Not quite the Fogstar equivalent but reasonably close in terms of plug-and-play philosophy.

The key thing regardless of supplier: verify the BMS supports your inverter's communication protocol before committing. Learned that the hard way on my first tiny house build.
