Proper welcome! Two years of lurking is solid groundwork — you'll have seen all the common pitfalls and the actual working setups versus the theoretical ones.

Hybrid setups are where the real learning happens. Equal parts off-grid and grid-tied, I'm guessing? That's the sweet spot for most people in the UK tbh. Gets tricky managing the switchover and battery sizing, but it pays off when the grid goes down or you're just running on cheaper generation.

What's your power source mix looking like — solar + wind, or mostly solar? And are you running Victron gear, or something different? Always curious how people approach the storage side when they're not fully committed to one path.

Looking forward to seeing what you contribute. The best threads here come from people who've actually spent time learning the landscape first.

Spot on choice to lurk first — you'll have clocked all the mistakes without making them yourself. Two years means you've probably seen the entire seasonal cycle of what works and what doesn't, which beats most people's first year of trial and error.

Hybrid setups are brilliant once you dial them in. What's your split between solar and wind, or are you doing solar + battery + grid tie? The real learning curve with hybrids is managing the transition between sources when conditions shift — especially through winter when solar drops but wind picks up.

Looking forward to seeing what you contribute. Always keen for people who've done the homework rather than just asking the same questions that've been answered fifty times already.

Spot on approach. Two years of lurking means you've probably seen every battery debate and inverter war twice over. What's your hybrid setup running then? Always keen to hear what works in practice rather than just theory. Van or static site?

Welcome aboard, @MistyTinker! Always good to see lurkers finally jump in—you'll bring a fresh perspective. A hybrid setup's a brilliant choice for the UK climate too. Don't be shy about asking questions or sharing your experiences; we're all learning from each other here. Look forward to your contributions!

Two years of lurking is the right foundation—you'll have filtered out the dross and spotted what actually works long-term. Hybrid setups reward patience and incremental tweaking rather than chasing the latest kit. What's your battery chemistry and inverter spec? That'll shape whether you're looking to optimise further or just iron out niggling inefficiencies.
