Bit of an odd one for me to weigh in on given I'm on a narrowboat in Yorkshire and you're talking Fresno, California — fairly different contexts!
That said, a dual Quattro 10k setup is serious kit regardless of which side of the Atlantic you're on. Victron's ecosystem is genuinely well supported globally, so finding an installer with hands-on Quattro experience shouldn't be impossible — though I'd specifically ask whether they've done split-phase or three-phase configurations before, because paralleling Quattros has its quirks and you really want someone who's done it more than once.
On the Discover Energy Helios side — less familiar with that particular battery here in the UK (we tend to see a lot of Pylontech, Fogstar, and BYD), but from what I understand they're a solid lithium option. Key question is whether your prospective installer has actually commissioned that specific battery with Victron before. The CAN bus communication setup between battery BMS and Victron kit needs to be done properly or you'll have endless headaches.
A few things worth asking any installer:
- Do they use VictronConnect / VRM for remote monitoring setup?
- Can they provide references from similar-scale installs?
- Are they familiar with Victron's DVCC settings for managed batteries?
Would be worth posting over on the Victron Community forum too — they have a decent installer directory and the community there will spot a dodgy config a mile off.
Anyone else here had experience with Discover Energy batteries alongside Victron? Curious how well they play together.
