Been piecing together my Victron Lynx BMS setup for the boat over the past few months and I've hit a bit of a wall with cable management.
I've got a BAT512130620 LiFePO4 300Ah battery tucked away in the bow locker, and the BMS is mounted closer to the main panel — there's probably 2–2.5 metres between them. The stock M8 data cable that comes with it is nowhere near long enough to reach comfortably.
A few questions for anyone who's done this:

What's the maximum safe length for the M8 BMS communication cable? I've seen the Victron docs mention keeping data cables short but no specific figure jumps out at me.

Can you daisy-chain two extension cables together, or does that introduce signal issues? I'd rather not find out the hard way mid-season on the water.

Is there a recommended extension cable — does Victron sell an official one, or are people using generic M8 4-pin cables from somewhere like Amazon or RS Components? Wondering if there's a quality threshold worth paying attention to here.
The install is otherwise fairly straightforward — Cerbo GX, Multiplus-II, Lynx Distributor — so I don't want something daft like a dodgy data cable causing false BMS trips when I'm anchored somewhere off the west coast of Scotland with no signal.
Anyone dealt with this on a boat install specifically? Tight cable runs and awkward routing seem to be the norm on these older hulls.
