Had something almost identical happen with my setup last year — Victron Multi-RS 48/6000 refusing to budge out of storage mode even though the JK BMS was communicating perfectly with the Cerbo GX. All the data was there, SOC reading correctly, cell voltages looking healthy, but the inverter just sat there like it had given up on life.
Turned out to be a mismatch between the battery's advertised charge voltage parameters and what the Multi-RS was expecting to see before it'd commit to actually doing anything useful. The Cerbo could read the BMS data fine, but the DVCC settings weren't quite aligned — specifically the CVL (charge voltage limit) coming through from the BMS was a fraction lower than the Multi-RS's internal threshold to exit storage.
A few things worth checking if you're in the same boat:
- DVCC enabled in VenusOS — without it, the Multi-RS largely ignores BMS-supplied limits
- Check the CVL value the BMS is actually broadcasting via the Cerbo (visible in the console under
batterysettings) - Firmware on both the Cerbo and Multi-RS — there were some known quirks in older builds around LiFePO4 storage mode exit behaviour
My bank is a Fogstar Drift build with JK BMS, so not quite 32kWh scale, but the principle's the same whether you've got one pack or several.
Has anyone else seen this on a three-phase ESS config specifically? Curious whether the phase balancing logic throws another spanner in there.
