Multi RS solar met Shelly pro EM-50 niet meer zichtbaar bij apparaten na power hik-up/lost

Bit of an odd one this, hoping someone here has seen similar.

Running a Victron Multi RS Solar on my narrowboat with a Shelly Pro EM for energy monitoring. Everything was ticking along nicely for a couple of months, Shelly configured as a grid meter, showing up correctly in VRM and the device list on my Cerbo GX.

Then had a brief power interruption at the marina — nothing dramatic, maybe 30 seconds off shore power — and when everything came back up, the Shelly had simply vanished from the Victron device list. Still visible on the Shelly app, still on the network, just not being seen by the Cerbo anymore.

I've tried:

• Rebooting both devices in various orders
• Re-entering the Shelly's IP manually under the Modbus settings
• Checking that nothing had shifted IP address on the router

It came back once after about 20 minutes for no obvious reason, then disappeared again on the next power cycle.

Running Cerbo GX firmware v3.3x — wondering if there's a known handshake issue between the Cerbo and Shelly after an unclean shutdown? I've read vague mentions of similar problems with the Pro EM specifically but nothing definitive.

Has anyone else had this crop up, particularly on a boat where power interruptions aren't exactly rare? Wondering whether assigning a static IP to the Shelly would help, or whether this points to something deeper in the firmware.

Any experience with this gratefully received.

@RetiredChef2 not seen this exact combo but had similar weirdness with my Victron setup after a power blip.

Few things worth checking:

• Static IP — has the Shelly reverted to DHCP and grabbed a new address? Router might've reassigned it
• VRM portal — does the Multi RS still show healthy there, or is it also confused?
• Check the Shelly firmware post-restart, sometimes it rolls back oddly
• On the Multi RS side, worth a full ESS reset via VictronConnect

The Dutch thread title suggests you're maybe following a European community too — worth checking if anyone's reported the same on the Victron community forum directly, they're pretty responsive.

What's your network setup — are you running a dedicated boat router or tethering? That'd narrow it down a lot.

Has anyone tried doing a full network reset on the Shelly Pro EM after the power blip? I had something similar on my boat where a device disappeared from discovery after an outage — turned out the EM had grabbed a new IP address via DHCP and the Victron system was still looking for the old one.

Worth checking:

• Is the Shelly still broadcasting on your local network?
• Has its IP changed?

Setting a static IP for the Shelly in your router solved it for me permanently. Also curious — are you connecting through VRM or purely local network? I've noticed VRM can be slow to re-discover devices after a hik-up compared to a direct local connection.

Worth checking the Shelly Pro EM's IP address hasn't shifted after the blip — if your router handed it a new one, VRM/Venus OS loses track of it entirely.

Had something similar with a Shelly on my cabin setup. Fixed it by giving the Shelly a static IP via the router's DHCP reservation. Stopped it wandering about after every power hiccup.

Also worth double-checking the Modbus TCP settings on the EM are still intact — sometimes a power loss resets those too. Compare against your original config if you kept notes.
