Saw some chat about split-phase 240v setups in North America using a pair of Multiplus IIs and it got me thinking about our own grid-tie situation here in the UK.
Running a single Multiplus II 48/3000/35-50 myself at the moment — grid connected, modest loads, nothing mental. Works a treat for what I need. But curious whether anyone's gone down the route of stacking two units for UK domestic use, even if we don't have the split-phase faff to deal with.
The Americans are pairing them to get 240v split-phase across two legs. We obviously don't have that headache, but there's still a case for stacking if you want more output capacity or redundancy, right?
A few things I'm mulling over:
- Is it worth the complexity vs just stepping up to a larger single unit?
- Anyone running parallel Victron units on a UK grid-tie setup with a G98/G99 DNO notification done properly?
- Battery bank sizing — currently on a Fogstar 48v 200Ah LiFePO4, which copes fine for my place but parallel inverters would chew through that faster
Feels like the Victron ecosystem handles the configuration well enough through VE.Configure, but I'd rather hear from someone who's actually done it rather than just trusting the manual.
