Been down this rabbit hole myself, mate. Trying to track down proper documentation for integrated systems is a nightmare. Got a Victron setup with the GX display and the manual situation is... let's say fragmented.

The thing is, these all-in-one units are brilliant for space but the paperwork gets scattered across three different PDFs if you're lucky. The GX Colour interface is straightforward enough once you poke around, but when you're troubleshooting the MPPT side of things you need the actual specs, yeah?

Have you tried:

  • Victron's support portal directly (sometimes they'll email you specific docs)
  • The installer documentation if it came with one?
  • Checking if there's a combined manual for the 48/5000/70 as a standalone, then the GX Colour guide separately?

I ended up building my own reference sheet from bits of their online documentation, which is mental but worked. The 150/100 MPPT should follow standard Victron logic anyway.

Worth contacting your supplier too — they sometimes have installer bundles with everything bundled together. Mine was tucked in a folder I nearly binned.

Anyone else running these integrated units? Would be good to know if there's a master document floating about that covers the lot. Could save the rest of us tearing our hair out.

Had this exact headache when I was setting up my garden office system. The Easy Solar manuals tend to be scattered across Victron's site – you'll want the main unit manual and the GX Control manual separately, rather than expecting one integrated document.

What actually helped me was digging through the Victron Community forum itself. Their support team are usually brilliant about pointing you toward the right PDFs once you ask specifically about the 48/5000 variant.

One tip: check if your unit came with a quick-start card. Mine had a QR code linking to the full documentation bundle online. Sometimes easier than hunting through their website.

If you're still stuck, the manual reference should be on your actual unit – search that exact model number on Victron's support portal. Saved me hours of guessing.

Victron's documentation is genuinely scattered. Check their website directly — search for "Easy Solar 48/5000" and filter by filetype:pdf. The GX Colour manual is separate from the inverter manual, which catches most people out.

Your best bet is contacting Victron support directly with your serial number. They'll email you the specific build documentation for your unit since these integrated systems vary.

Also worth joining the Victron community forum if you haven't already — their tech team are responsive there. I had to do this with my boat setup and got answers faster than the official support ticket route.

What specific information are you after? Battery settings, networking, or something else? Might be able to point you at the right section if I've dealt with it.

Frustrating, innit? I had similar grief when I wired up my van system. The GX Colour bundled manuals are basic at best.

Your best bet is hitting Victron's support portal directly — create an account if you haven't already, then request the full integration manual. They'll usually send the complete PDF within a day or two.

Also worth checking if your installer included any commissioning docs — sometimes they bundle custom config sheets that actually explain the GX setup better than Victron's generic stuff.

One tip: the GX Colour manual and the Easy Solar manual need reading together to make sense of the whole system. Treat them as a pair, not separate documents.

What're you trying to configure? Might be worth asking in the Victron community forum directly — their tech team are usually responsive there.

The integrated manual is basically non-existent — Victron treats the Easy Solar and GX as separate components documentation-wise. Annoying, I know.

What actually worked for me: download the standalone Easy Solar manual from their support portal, then grab the GX manual separately. They cross-reference each other enough to make sense.

One thing worth noting — the GX Colour firmware updates can change menu layouts, so check what version you're running first. I had my system set up one way, updated, and suddenly everything was in different places.

If you're stuck on specific settings (like grid assist thresholds or charge profiles), the Victron community forums are usually more helpful than the docs. Someone's usually already solved it.

What're you trying to configure? Might be quicker than hunting manuals.

Spot on about the fragmentation, @CaddyProject. I've had the same headache with mine. What helped was treating it as three separate documents:

  1. The Easy Solar manual (covers the inverter/charger core)
  2. The GX Colour manual (displays and basic networking)
  3. The VE.Bus Quick Install Guide (for the actual integration bits)

Victron's website has a proper downloads section—bit buried, but worth digging through. Also, their tech support is surprisingly responsive if you email them directly with specific questions about your setup.

One tip: the GX Colour manual does touch on the Easy Solar integration, but you'll need both docs side-by-side to get the full picture. Annoying system, but workable once you've got all three.

What specific settings are you struggling with? Might be able to point you in the right direction.

Has anyone actually tried contacting Easy Solar directly rather than Victron UK? I'm wondering if the integrated GX unit ships with proprietary firmware tweaks that mean the standard Victron GX Colour manual doesn't fully apply anyway.

For my static caravan backup setup I've been piecing things together from the Victron Professional portal — there are some deeper config docs there that don't make it into the public-facing PDFs.

Also worth checking whether your unit was rebranded — some of these integrated Easy Solar units are essentially relabelled Voltronic/Axpert boards inside, in which case the Axpert documentation might actually fill some gaps the official docs leave open.

@HarryWalker — when you say treating it as three separate components, did you find a reliable source for the comms/integration side specifically? That's where I'm hitting a wall with my own research.

@BoxerAdventure that's actually a really good shout — did you get anywhere with them? Curious whether they have any consolidated docs or just point you back to Victron's website anyway.

I've got a Victron MultiPlus-II in my static caravan setup and I've just cobbled together my own reference notes from the separate manuals over time. Bit of a pain but it works.

Is there anything specific you're trying to configure on the GX side? Sometimes the Victron community forum fills in the gaps where the official docs fall short — those threads can be gold for integrated system quirks.

@BoxerAdventure the integrated GX in the Easy Solar 48/5000/70 is essentially a Venus GX board mounted internally — it's not a bespoke unit. So the standard Victron Venus OS documentation does apply directly. What's actually missing is the combined wiring and commissioning documentation that covers the pre-wired internals.

Worth downloading the MPPT 150/70 manual, the MultiPlus 48/5000 manual, and the Venus GX manual separately from Victron's professional portal — they map almost perfectly onto that unit. The Victron Professional section occasionally has consolidated commissioning guides that don't appear on the public site.
