My static caravan setup desperately needs more grunt â especially when the EV's on charge and the emergency backup kicks in simultaneously (yes, that's a "fun" day on site) â so I've been eyeing up running two of these beasts together to get a proper 12kW of inverter capacity.
The Victron documentation is characteristically gorgeous to look at and absolutely useless when you actually need a straight answer. Their dealers seem to operate on a "we sold it, good luck" basis, which is reassuring.
Specific questions I'm wrestling with:
- Do both units need identical firmware before attempting parallel operation, or will they negotiate like polite Brits at a roundabout?
- Is the Ve.Can bus the correct interconnect here, or are there additional parallel cables the manual mysteriously neglects to mention?
- Anyone running this combo in the UK on a TN-C-S supply where the DNO gets twitchy about larger inverters?
I've trawled the Victron Community forums and found about three threads from 2019 that contradict each other spectacularly â absolute bingo card of conflicting advice.
If anyone's actually got this working in a real install (not just theoretically on a spreadsheet at 2am), I'd genuinely love to hear how you got there, because my supplier's response to technical questions is essentially a shrug rendered in email form.
