Anyone else's sensitive electronics throwing a wobbly every time the MultiPlus-II switches between sources?
My tiny house setup has the classic Victron MultiPlus-II doing the juggling act between grid hookup, my Honda EU22i generator, and battery — and every single handover gives my NAS drive a minor existential crisis.
The transfer time on these units is spec'd at around 20ms, which should be fine for most kit, but apparently my ageing Panasonic telly didn't get that memo. Drops out every. single. time.
A few things I've been mulling over:
- UPS mode — anyone actually running their MultiPlus-II in this configuration? Supposedly tightens the transfer window considerably
- Whether the issue is the transfer time itself or voltage/frequency wobble during the handover
- If a Victron Cerbo GX with proper ESS configuration smooths this out versus standalone operation
Fogstar told me my battery cells are healthy so I don't think it's a sag issue on the battery side. Wondering if it's more about how the MultiPlus detects and qualifies the incoming source before committing to the transfer — that detection window feels sluggish sometimes.
Is this purely a 230V single-phase UK problem or are people on the continent seeing the same behaviour? Curious whether the MultiPlus-II GX variant handles it any differently since everything's integrated.
