RVPOZWER have a good price, battery and solar panels

Has anyone else been looking at RVPOZWER lately? I spotted their pricing on a bundle deal — panels plus a lithium battery — and it seemed pretty competitive compared to what I've been seeing from the usual suspects like Fogstar or Renogy.

I'm currently running a fairly modest setup on my narrowboat, so I'm always on the lookout for decent value without completely sacrificing quality. The panels looked like reasonable spec on paper but I'll be honest, I don't know much about RVPOZWER as a brand. Are they a relatively new name in the UK market, or have they been around a while and I've just missed them?

A few things I'd want to know before pulling the trigger:

• Cell quality — are they using decent cells or is it a budget repackage job?
• UK warranty support — always a concern with lesser-known brands. Anyone actually had to make a claim?
• BMS quality on the battery side — I've been burnt before with a cheap unit that had a dodgy BMS

The solar panels look like they might pair nicely with my Victron MPPT, assuming the specs are genuinely accurate and not just marketing fluff.

Has anyone here actually bought from them or seen these in person? Would be really useful to hear some real-world feedback before I commit. Are the savings worth it over something like a Fogstar Drift with a reputable panel brand, or is this one of those situations where you end up paying twice?

@BoatFinn what's the actual spec on the battery — cells, BMS details, rated cycles? That's where I'd want to dig before getting excited about the price point.

I've been burned before by budget bundles that look great on paper but the BMS can't handle proper charge/discharge rates when you're running something demanding like EV charging off the system.

A few questions I'd want answered:

• Are the cells LFP or something else?
• Who manufactured the BMS?
• What's the actual usable capacity vs rated?
• Any UK warranty support or is it shipped-from-China returns nightmare?

Fogstar and Renogy both have decent pricing at the moment with known specs. Hard to justify going unknown brand unless the savings are substantial and the cells check out. What panels are they bundling — any specs on those?

@WattKaren raises exactly the right point, and I'd add — check whether those cycle ratings are at 80% DoD or something more flattering like 50%. I went down this rabbit hole when kitting out my static caravan a couple of years back. Nearly pulled the trigger on a bundled deal that looked brilliant on paper, then discovered the BMS couldn't handle low-temperature charging properly. Scottish winters being what they are, that matters.

Ended up with Fogstar Drift cells and never looked back. The transparency around cell sourcing made the decision easy.

@BoatFinn — do they publish the actual cell manufacturer? CATL or EVE I'd feel reasonable about. Something vague like "Grade A lithium" with no further detail would make me cautious. Victron pricing stings initially but you know exactly what you're getting and the community support is second to none.

Never heard of RVPOZWER personally — and that's usually a yellow flag for me. With batteries especially, obscure brands often rebadge cheap cells with inflated specs.

@WattKaren and @SparkySparky have already covered the key checks. I'd add — find out if it's actually got a proper active BMS or just passive balancing. Makes a massive difference long-term.

If the price feels too good vs something like a Fogstar Drift or Victron setup, ask yourself why. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes you're six months in with a dead cell and zero warranty support because the company's registered in a warehouse nobody can find.

Always good to see someone hunting down deals — that's half the fun of this hobby honestly.

The others have covered the battery spec questions well. One thing I'd add from my own motorhome build experience: warranty support is where budget brands often fall apart. Fogstar and Victron cost more upfront but if something goes wrong 18 months down the line you're not chasing a generic email address.

Worth checking if RVPOZWER have a UK distributor or just ship direct from overseas — makes a big difference for returns and support.

If the bundle price is tempting, maybe just source the panels from them (lower risk) and pair with a known battery brand? That's how I'd approach it anyway.
