Been having a strange one with my MultiPlus-II 48/3000 lately and wondering if anyone else has seen this.
Over the past couple of weeks I've noticed settings drifting on the remote console — specifically the battery monitor selection keeps reverting. I've got Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 cells running through a Victron SmartShunt, and the monitor keeps switching away from the SmartShunt back to something else entirely. Happens seemingly at random, usually after a firmware update or occasionally after a grid power interruption.
A few questions for the thread:
- Is this a known issue with certain VenusOS versions? I'm on a fairly recent build but haven't pinned down exactly which update triggered it
- Could it be related to the DVCC settings interacting with the battery comms? My setup uses CAN bus between the BMS and the Cerbo GX
- Has anyone found a way to "lock" settings so they don't get overwritten remotely or by VRM?
The frustrating bit is that when the monitor switches, the SOC readings go completely haywire and I've had the inverter throttling my EV charging unnecessarily because it thinks the batteries are lower than they actually are. Bit of a pain when you're trying to time overnight charging around cheap rate tariffs.
I've raised it on the Victron Community forum as well but thought this crowd might have more practical UK off-grid experience with it.
Anyone seen similar behaviour, particularly with third-party lithium batteries where the BMS is talking to the Cerbo?
