Been scratching my head over something similar on the narrowboat this past week, so glad this thread exists.
Running a Victron Phoenix Smart 12/3000 connected via VE.Direct to my Ekrano GX, and since nudging the firmware up to v3.73 with the new UI, the data display has gone a bit... unreliable. Specifically:
- Output wattage occasionally shows zero when the inverter is clearly working hard (kettle's on, I can hear it)
- The "time remaining" estimate vanishes entirely for stretches, then reappears without warning
- Device info screen shows the inverter model name as blank — just an empty field where "Phoenix Smart Inverter 12/3000" should be
The VE.Direct cable itself is fine — I swapped it with a spare and no change. Inverter firmware is on v1.39 as well, so it's not a mismatch there.
What's odd is it was rock solid on the previous UI. The data is flowing — you can see it briefly populate then drop out — so it feels more like a rendering or polling issue in the new interface rather than a comms failure.
I've raised a ticket with Victron support but figured the collective wisdom here might get me sorted faster. Has anyone found a workaround — even something crude like a scheduled reboot via the GX remote console? Tempted to roll back to the old UI until this gets patched, but losing the new dashboard feels like a step backwards after getting used to it.
Anyone else on a 12V system specifically seeing this? Wondering if it's voltage-tier related or just the VE.Direct path in general.
