Never heard of SunGold DC before — interesting choice. Is that a US brand? Curious how you're getting on with it over here, spares and support can be a nightmare with the more obscure inverter brands.
The split phase side of things is what catches my eye. Not something you see discussed much on UK forums since we're running 230V single phase, so I'm guessing you've either got some American equipment to run or you've got a specific reason for going that route?
A few things I'd want to know:
- What's the idle draw like? My Victron Multiplus is surprisingly lean but I've seen some of the budget inverter-chargers absolutely massacre a battery bank just sitting there
- How's the charger profile? Can you set custom absorption/float voltages or is it fixed?
- Any BMS comms capability or is it dumb charging?
I'm running a 48V LiFePO4 setup with Fogstar Drift cells and comms between the inverter and BMS is something I'd never go back from now. Makes a massive difference to how hard the charger pushes the cells.
Worth keeping an eye on the cooling fan behaviour too — some of these lesser-known brands run the fans flat out constantly which drives you mad if it's anywhere near living space.
Would be good to see some photos of the install if you've got them. What are you powering from it?
