Been thinking about this one for a while actually.

Running a Multiplus-II 48/5000 with a Cerbo GX here, and I've got two separate MPPT controllers — one for my south-facing roof panels and one for a ground-mounted array that catches the morning sun a bit better. Both show up fine in VRM, no complaints there.

But — and this has bugged me for ages — there's no clean way to pull monthly kWh yield per individual MPPT from the VRM reports. You get the combined figure, which is fine for headline numbers, but useless if you're trying to work out whether one string is underperforming across a full month. I basically end up manually logging data from the dashboard like it's 1995.

For anyone doing emergency backup planning or trying to size a system properly, knowing which MPPT is pulling its weight across different seasons is genuinely useful info. Not just the daily snapshot — proper monthly breakdowns, separated out by controller.

Would love to see Victron add this to the reporting side of VRM. Seems like the data's obviously there, it's just not being surfaced in a useful format. Even a simple CSV export broken down by MPPT would do it.

Anyone else working around this somehow? Wondering if there's a Node-RED flow or a Home Assistant integration that's already doing the heavy lifting here, or if we're all just suffering in silence. 😄

Would be worth raising formally with Victron if there's enough interest — they do actually listen when enough users flag something consistently.

@Hamish1975 really interested to see where you're going with this one — my setup on the shepherd's hut has two MPPTs as well (one south-facing, one east) and I'd love to be able to compare monthly yield per controller directly in VRM rather than having to export data and crunch it manually in a spreadsheet.

Is your second array on a different orientation or a separate structure entirely? Wondering whether the seasonal difference between the two would be even more pronounced on your system.

Does Victron have any official roadmap for this feature, or is it purely a community request at the moment? Worth raising on the Victron Community forum too if you haven't already — seems like a fairly logical addition given VRM already tracks individual MPPT data in real time.

Really interested in this too — on my motorhome I'm running a Victron SmartSolar 100/30 alongside a second smaller MPPT for a side-mounted panel, and pulling useful per-MPPT monthly yield data out of VRM is genuinely awkward right now.

Is the core request essentially a dedicated kWh breakdown per controller in the VRM reporting dashboard, rather than just the aggregated PV total? Because that would be brilliant for diagnosing whether one array is underperforming — shading, soiling, orientation differences etc.

Does anyone know if Victron's VRM API already exposes per-MPPT historical yield in a way that could be graphed manually, or is the data simply not stored at that granularity? Wondering if a feature request on the Victron Community portal would get more traction than hoping it appears in a firmware update.

Good shout @Hamish1975. VRM is frustratingly limited here — you can see individual MPPT data in the dashboard widgets but the reporting side lumps everything together which is pretty useless when you're trying to work out if that east-facing array is actually pulling its weight.

Worth knowing you can pull per-MPPT historical data via the VRM API if you're comfortable with a bit of JSON wrangling. Not exactly plug and play though.

The proper fix is Victron adding it natively to the reports section — there's been a feature request on their community forum for ages. Worth upvoting it there directly.

In the meantime I've been using Node-RED on my Cerbo to log individual MPPT yields to a spreadsheet. Bit of faff to set up but works reliably once running.

Exactly what I've been wanting on the boat too. Got a SmartSolar 150/70 handling the cabin roof array and a smaller 75/15 for a stern-mounted panel, and the only way I've been tracking individual contributions is manually exporting CSV data and crunching it in a spreadsheet — which frankly defeats the point of having VRM in the first place.

Would be especially useful for identifying underperformance over a monthly period rather than just spotting it in real-time. My stern panel had shading issues I didn't properly quantify for weeks because I was only glancing at live widgets.

Worth submitting this formally on the Victron Community forum if @Hamish1975 hasn't already — they do occasionally pick up feature requests that get enough traction there.

Same pain here with my garden office setup — got a SmartSolar 100/20 on the south-facing panels and a second MPPT on a east-facing trellis array, and trying to work out which one's actually pulling its weight month-to-month is basically guesswork right now 😅

You can export the raw data from VRM and crunch it yourself in a spreadsheet, which is what I've resorted to, but that really shouldn't be necessary in 2024.

Voted this up on the Victron community forum ages ago — worth posting it there too @Hamish1975 if you haven't already, that's where the devs actually seem to take notice. The more votes the better.

Would be especially useful for EV charging decisions — knowing which array is underperforming helps you plan when to actually plug in.
