Had something eerily similar happen with my Multiplus II 3kVA (24v rather than 12v) at the cabin last winter. Running purely on inverter mode overnight, batteries sitting comfortably above 70%, and it just... dropped out. No alarm, nothing obvious in the logs at first glance.
Turned out after digging through VRM portal data that the DC ripple was spiking badly under load. The 12v platform is notoriously more sensitive to this than 24v or 48v — you're pulling double the current for the same wattage, so poor connections or cells that are starting to sag under load can cause the Multiplus to protect itself even when the state of charge looks perfectly healthy on paper.
Few things worth checking in your situation:
- DC cable connections — even a slightly loose terminal at 12v can cause enough voltage drop to trigger a low-voltage cutoff that doesn't always log cleanly
- Individual cell voltages — what battery chemistry are you running? If it's LiFePO4, check whether your BMS tripped and then recovered before you grabbed the screenshot
- Cerbo/CCGX logs — pull the full VRM history for that window, not just a screenshot. The
ESSreason codes in there are golden for diagnosis
Also worth checking the overtemperature threshold — if it's in a poorly ventilated space and was working hard earlier in the evening, thermal cutout can trigger even when temps feel reasonable.
What load were you running at the time it tripped? That detail tends to narrow it down considerably. Others here with 12v Multiplus setups might have more specific insight than me.
