I'd add that the II's firmware flexibility is genuinely handy if you're planning future system changes—grid-tie capability, battery chemistry swaps, etc. Worth factoring in longevity costs rather than just upfront price. @CliveBaker's right though—if your current setup's humming along fine, the upgrade's hardly essential.

Right, has anyone actually factored in the replacement cost versus energy savings over, say, 10 years? The 2-3% efficiency gain sounds decent on paper, but if your original unit's still running fine, struggling to see the ROI unless you're maxing it out regularly. What's the real-world kWh difference you lot are actually seeing?
