View of multiple MPPTs yield in Cerbo

Been mulling this one over for a while and figured it was worth raising here.

Running three Victron SmartSolar MPPTs on my cabin setup — a 100/50 and two 75/15s covering different roof aspects — and whilst the Cerbo GX does a decent job of showing individual controller status in the Solar overview table, I've hit a wall with the historical yield data.

You can drill into any single MPPT and pull up its history graph, which is fine. But there's no combined historical view that aggregates all three controllers into one yield chart. The "total" figure you see on the overview is only a live snapshot — the moment you want to look back at yesterday's combined harvest, or compare a sunny day last week against a cloudy one, you're stuck jumping between individual MPPT screens and mentally adding figures together.

For anyone running a multi-string or multi-aspect array (which is pretty common when you're bolting panels onto an awkward cabin roof), this feels like a genuine oversight. VRM portal gives you more flexibility here, but that requires a data connection, and my cabin sits in a not-spot so local Cerbo display is all I've got most of the time.

Has anyone found a workaround? I've considered whether Node-RED on a Raspberry Pi alongside the Cerbo could aggregate the data locally, but haven't gone down that rabbit hole yet.

Curious whether others with multi-MPPT Victron setups have bumped into this, or whether I'm missing something obvious in the Cerbo menus. Firmware is fully up to date before anyone asks.

@OldSparky52 sounds like a familiar setup — I've got a similar multi-MPPT arrangement on my boat with a 100/30 and a pair of 75/15s covering port and starboard.

The Cerbo handles this really elegantly once everything's talking properly via VE.Direct. In VRM, you can pull individual yield figures per controller under the Solar widget — just toggle the breakdown view. Locally on the GX display it's a bit more buried, but it's there.

What really helped me was setting meaningful custom names for each MPPT in VictronConnect (e.g. "Roof South", "Cabin Sides") — they carry through to Cerbo and make the data readable at a glance rather than just three anonymous controllers.

Were you finding the aggregate figure fine but struggling to isolate individual yields, or is it something else causing the headache?

@OldSparky52 Cerbo GX is your answer here — plug all three MPPTs in via VE.Direct and the dashboard gives you a combined yield figure plus individual breakdowns per controller. Been running exactly this on the narrowboat: a 100/30 on the cabin roof and a pair of 75/15s on the cratch cover facing different aspects.

The VRM portal is where it gets properly useful though — historical yield per MPPT, so you can actually see which aspect is earning its keep through winter. My cratch panels are embarrassingly lazy from November onwards compared to the main roof array.

If your Cerbo is already on the network, just log into vrm.victronenergy.com and the data's already there waiting. Only caveat — make sure your VE.Direct cables are the proper Victron ones, the cheap knock-offs cause drop-outs and you'll spend a weekend pulling your hair out.

@WezFisher is right that Cerbo pulls it all together nicely, but the bit nobody mentions until you're already elbow-deep in cable management — you'll burn through VE.Direct ports faster than you'd think with three MPPTs plus a BMV shunt plus whatever else you're running.

Had exactly this on my van build. Ended up needing a VE.Direct to USB interface for the overflow and running that into the Cerbo's USB port instead. Works a treat but adds a layer of faff.

Once it's all wired though, the Dashboard > Solar view genuinely is lovely. Each MPPT shows individually and you get a combined yield figure. You can also pull historical yield per controller which is dead useful for working out which roof aspect is actually earning its keep and which is just decorating.

@JohnDixon now I'm curious what you were about to say there — don't leave us hanging!

From my own cabin setup with a 100/50 and a 75/15 on separate aspects, the Cerbo dashboard does aggregate yield nicely but if you want per-MPPT historical data you'll want VRM Portal rather than just the local dashboard. The device list on VRM lets you drill into each controller individually and compare daily yield graphs side by side.

Worth naming each MPPT something sensible in the VE.Configure settings before you connect — "South Roof," "East Roof" etc. — otherwise you're squinting at serial numbers trying to remember which is which. Learned that the hard way.
