Just spotted the new VRM dashboard icons have dropped and honestly... mixed feelings.
The refreshed look is clean enough, but I'm running a fairly straightforward Victron setup on my garden office — MPPT, MultiPlus-II, couple of Fogstar Drift 100Ah batteries — and I rely on VRM almost daily to check what's happening remotely. My concern with any UI refresh is whether the layout logic changes underneath, not just the aesthetics.
A few things I'm curious about:
- Has anyone noticed whether the Dynamic ESS changes affect how it displays for purely off-grid systems? I don't have a grid connection at the office, so some of those features have always felt a bit irrelevant to my setup
- The "Essential Loads" icon — does this now behave differently in terms of what it groups together, or is it purely cosmetic?
- Anyone on the VRM app (iOS specifically) — has the updated dashboard rolled out there yet or is it web portal only at the moment?
I get that Victron are pushing hard on the ESS and grid-tied side of things, which makes sense commercially, but it'd be good to know the pure off-grid monitoring side hasn't been deprioritised in these releases.
Would be interested to hear from anyone running a similar setup — particularly if you've got multiple VRM portals linked across different sites. Does the new dashboard handle that any differently?
