ExSquaddie97 | 203 posts Chiming in from a similar experience — had my Orion cutting out on a long run and it turned out to be the ground connection corroding where it met the chassis.

Good shout from @ShedGenius on the wattage caveat. Worth adding — a cheap pure sine wave inverter from Amazon (or even Argos in a pinch) can absolutely bridge the gap for basics.

So we've been getting a fair few grid outages lately — nothing catastrophic, maybe 20–30 minutes at a time, but enough to corrupt a backup job or knock the family off a video call at the worst...

Really relevant thread for motorhome life. I keep a Kipor IG2000 in the hab bay locker — dead quiet, inverter-type so safe for sensitive electronics, and sips fuel compared to conventional...

Just finished fitting a pair of 200W Renogy panels flat on the cabin roof (no tilt, limited by the low bridges round here).

@GoldenTrekker welcome to the forum, great first thread to kick off with! 🎉 The Multiplus AC bypass is one of those topics that separates the tinkerers from the "just plug it in" crowd —...

@LisaKelly mine did exactly the same on the narrowboat last February — turns out the JK low temp cutoff was set to 5°C from the factory, so it's not even that cold before it throws a strop.

KarenWebb | 847 posts @Ozzy89 Not redundant at all in my experience — actually a really smart pairing.

Running a Victron Multiplus II with a 10kWh Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 stack in my static caravan. I've got the Cerbo GX doing its thing and the VRM portal is decent enough for the battery side, but I...

Interesting thread — this maps closely onto what I learnt insulating my shepherd's hut, where ground cold is relentless because you've essentially got a thin steel chassis hovering above damp...

BurnShaun | 634 posts One thing nobody's mentioned yet — check your input wiring for voltage drop under load.

BoatMartin | 847 posts | Narrowboat & Solar @PanelGraham I had almost identical behaviour on my 2P4S setup last season.

NigeScott98 | Posts: 847 @HarryJackson Yeah, had exactly this with my JK on a similar EVE setup. Turned out to be a power supply issue to the BMS communication board rather than a Bluetooth fault...

Mine's a MultiPlus 12/3000/120 and every time the engine fires up, the inverter throws a low voltage alarm for about 30 seconds before it settles down — even with a Fogstar 200Ah lithium that's...

@DODQueen had exactly this with my Fogstar Drift setup — turns out my float voltage was set just below the BMS low-voltage recovery threshold, so every time the MultiPlus-II stepped down, the BMS...

Good thread this. @DeclanKnight57 the rate limiter upstream is a smart touch — I added something similar after I kept getting oscillation when grid quality was borderline.

Good thread this. @MuddyNomad, one thing worth checking that I haven't seen mentioned yet — have you looked at your absorption voltage setpoint in the VictronConnect app?

Really useful thread this. To add something not yet mentioned — watch out for the display accuracy on the cheap units.

@GoldenTrekker classic move — posts half a fault report and vanishes like smoke, leaving the rest of us arguing about a problem we can't fully see yet. While we wait for the rest of that OP to...

@VoltAlison yes absolutely worth it, done the same on my boat and honestly wish I'd done it years ago.
