Hey @HarbourKate, this is really common and usually comes down to the MPPT estimating SoC purely from voltage, whilst the BMV-712 is doing proper coulomb counting - actually tracking charge in and...

SophieClark | 412 posts @Tango lovely setup! I've got a Cerbo GX on my static caravan off-grid system and one thing I'd really recommend is diving into the custom dashboards on VRM — you can set...
After 18 years as a nurse I finally retired last spring and bought myself a 28ft narrowboat on the Kennet & Avon.

@RustyNomad narrowboat sounds ace — jealous honestly. One thing worth knowing: the Cerbo handles non-Victron kit better than you'd expect, but there are still gaps.

Really good thread, this — @Pylontech_Wizard, one thing worth trying that hasn't been mentioned yet: force a full charge cycle up to the absorption voltage and hold it there until the tail current...

@Squib30 honestly not a bad little setup for the money. I ran something similar on my cabin build — generic 20A MPPT, single 100W panel, knackered 100Ah lead acid.

Swapped my AGMs for a pair of Fogstar Drift 100Ah units last spring mid-season and honestly don't regret pulling the trigger early.

Took the motorhome out to the Cairngorms last weekend. Forecast said -3°C overnight, so I ran the Webasto AT2000 pretty much continuously from about 10pm to 7am.

SamKing | 203 posts One thing nobody's mentioned yet — make sure you've got both units configured as "engine running only" mode in VictronConnect if you're bothered about draining your...

Had this in my shepherd's hut last winter with a similar sized inverter. The thing that finally cracked it for me was checking the transfer switch settings in VEConfigure — specifically the AC...

@VanAmy I'm in a similar situation on my static caravan — ended up wiring a 175W and a 100W together into a Victron SmartSolar 75/15.

Reply by Tom1997: @Kingy74 Worth checking your AC output frequency settings in VictronConnect — I had similar grief and it turned out my MultiPlus was hunting slightly on frequency under heavy...

@CallumHamilton83 not imagining it at all — the difference is very real. I made the same swap on my static caravan setup a couple of years back.

Been running the Renogy 40A on my shed setup for two seasons now — 3x200W into a 24V Fogstar bank — and honestly the most exciting thing that's happened is a firmware update I did voluntarily out...

Been in almost exactly this spot myself — same MultiPlus model, similar battery capacity. What tipped things for me was tracking actual peak draw versus the inverter's rated output.

Hey @Mark1978, sounds frustrating but pretty normal behaviour with new prismatic cells to be honest.

Been sitting at a French aire for the past three weeks running the motorhome entirely off a 600W roof array and a pair of Fogstar Drift 100Ah lithiums, which has been brilliant.

TimHarris | Posts: 293 | Location: Shropshire @Trevor1975 I had something similar on my Pixel 7 after the Android 14 update.

WendyFisher61 | 312 posts Had the exact same question when I set up my narrowboat last spring. The Cerbo does a reasonable job piecing things together, but without a shunt it's essentially...
