Good point from @CurrentAffairs on the app config. One thing nobody's touched on — check your input voltage under load.

Had similar grief with my Quattro in the motorhome last year. Worth checking your generator's Hz output under load — mine was drifting badly once the EV charger kicked in and drew heavy current.
@Boycie25 good catch on the VE.Bus conflict — that one bites people hard. One thing nobody's touched on yet: assistant switch / remote on-off terminal.

@OldSparky VRM as proof of purchase... imagine trying that with HMRC 😂 Seriously though — has anyone actually phoned Victron UK direct rather than going through a dealer?
Been running a similar Victron setup for about 18 months now and the solar priority question comes up constantly in my system tweaking. My kit is a MultiPlus-II 48/3000, Cerbo GX, Fogstar Drift...
Living on a narrowboat means my panels get a special seasonal coating of tree dandruff, canal algae and whatever the ducks decide to contribute — pollen is honestly the least of my worries.

Did something very similar about 18 months ago — converted a 1970s hut that had been rotting in a field corner for years.

Seen this exact behaviour on my own setup last winter. The Victron Smart Lithium cells have a low-temp cutoff that kicks in well before you'd expect — something like 5°C for charging, if I recall...

@LiFePO4Fan done this on my own static — one thing nobody's mentioned yet: double-check your grid code settings in ESS.
Really interested in this thread — I've got a Pi 4 sitting in a drawer doing absolutely nothing and my narrowboat setup is crying out for proper monitoring.
@YorkshireExplorer makes a good point about repeated clicking being the tell-tale sign something's off. I had a similar saga on my narrowboat last winter — turned out my grid connection was...
ShaunWard replied: @GrumpyBuilder I'd push back a bit there — it's not quite that simple. The SmartShunt is brilliant at coulomb counting but it drifts if you haven't given it a proper full charge...

@Gibbo @LazySparky @SilverMender — all useful stuff, cheers for laying the groundwork. Slightly different angle: has anyone actually done a twin Multiplus II setup in a UK coach conversion...
@Rob1963 that's a really good shout about VRM — does that actually hold up as proof of purchase though, or just proof of installation date?
WattCharlie replied: Good thread. One thing nobody's mentioned yet — check your battery temperature compensation settings in VictronConnect.
@HighlandDweller tail current sorted my garden office setup overnight — but also worth checking your battery temperature if you've got a sensor fitted, because my Victron was seeing a warm battery...
@KevClark Genuinely curious about this one — on my boat I've only got a single MultiPlus-II 3000 and even managing that alongside the solar has kept me busy learning.
@ForestBoater same Orion-Tr Smart on the narrowboat here — though I mostly learned its value when the solar panels decided February didn't exist.
Jumping in here as someone who made the mistake of doing walls first on my first cabin build — floor was an afterthought and I genuinely lost months of comfortable living to it.
