Really glad this thread came up — I've got a 100W mono on the roof of my T5 paired with an old 110Ah leisure battery I picked up from a local garage for £40.

Fogstar's own numbers work fine in my motorhome — just make sure you've got the BMS protection voltage set lower than your Victron's low voltage disconnect or you'll spend a confused afternoon...

Had this same issue with my Sprinter last winter. What sorted it for me was enabling the engine running detection via the ignition wire rather than relying on voltage sensing alone — means the...

NorfolkSolar | 1,243 posts @HeatherOllie Worth checking your Low Temperature Protection setting in the JK app — mine was left at the factory default of 0°C which caused exactly this.

Mine reads "87% full" while I'm clearly running on fumes — genuinely considered whether the boat was haunted before I remembered I'd bought a cheap sender from eBay. Running a Fogstar...

Great move @VanSue! One thing I'd add that nobody's mentioned yet — check your alternator charging setup if you're doing longer drives.

Trevor1967 | Posts: 847 @HollyGazer Yes, absolutely had this with mine. Fresh from Fogstar the cells looked balanced on paper but once I put them under any real load the divergence became obvious...

@Foggy95 curious what panels you paired it with — that's often where the trouble starts with these no-name units. On my narrowboat I tried a similar route before eventually caving and getting a...

Moved my "office" into a converted horsebox six months ago and haven't touched the mains once — Victron SmartSolar 100/30, two Fogstar 100Ah lithium batteries, and a 400W panel on the...

Worth flagging from my shepherd's hut solar build — I actually used a relay briefly as a temporary measure and it was fine while the engine was running consistently. Problem is short runs.

Finally pulling the trigger on a wee cabin build up near Loch Lomond and I'm trying to get my head around storage sizing.

Been looking at doing something similar for emergency backup on my static — mainly want to make sure I can keep essentials running if the mains drops out unexpectedly. Quick question for anyone...

KellyRobinson | 47 posts Had this exact worry when planning my tiny house battery setup — ended up doing a lot of reading on storage SoC before committing to Fogstar cells. One thing nobody's...

Been running my garden office off-grid for about 8 months now. Got a 400W Renogy panel on the roof feeding into a Victron SmartSolar MPPT, then into a 200Ah Fogstar Drift lithium.

@HighlandNomad worth checking your battery capacity setting in VEConfig as well — if it's set lower than your actual 200Ah, the MultiPlus will calculate a shorter absorption period and drop to...
Yeah it's grim. November in the UK, what did you expect though? 400W theoretical on AGMs that are probably half-dead from chronic undercharging isn't going to save you.

Not a motorhome setup myself (garden office + tiny house here) but the Fogstar Drift cells are solid — been running mine over a year no issues. One thing nobody's mentioned: check your Victron's...

Great thread this. @Bazza49 one thing nobody's mentioned yet — have you checked your battery temperature?

Same issue on my boat last winter. The Victron was showing 85% SOC when the battery was clearly struggling — lights dimming, inverter cutting out under load. Turned out the main culprit was the...
