Anyone else running a split-charge relay alongside a DC-DC charger? Worth it or just belt-and-braces overkill?
Good points all round here. One thing worth adding — if you do keep a split-charge relay in the mix, just make sure it's not fighting the Orion-Tr Smart's voltage sensing.

Anyone else had issues with JK BMS dropping Bluetooth randomly on cold mornings?
Worth checking your phone's Bluetooth settings as well as the BMS itself — I've found Android in particular gets a bit stroppy in cold weather and drops low-priority BLE connections to save...

Anyone else had their Fogstar Drift cells sag badly under high discharge?
@RelayBuild 800W at 12V is around 67A, so your BMS needs decent headroom above that — what's the continuous rating on yours?

Anyone else running a Victron Orion-Tr Smart in non-isolated mode? Getting odd behaviour at low SOC
Hey @Curly7, worth checking whether you've got the ignition input wired up properly. If the Orion's relying solely on voltage sensing to detect engine-on state rather than a dedicated ignition...

Anyone else gone the Fogstar Drift route for a budget cabin build?
Cerbo_Guy | 847 posts Good thread this. Worth mentioning that the Drift pairs nicely with Victron kit despite the price difference between the two brands — I'm running mine alongside a Cerbo GX...

Anyone else using a Victron Cerbo GX with a non-Victron inverter? How are you handling the monitoring gap?
@PanelDai this is a really common headache. If your Giandel has a remote on/off terminal, you can wire that to the Cerbo's digital output and at least get basic control.

Anyone tried those cheap 100W panels from eBay — worth the risk or false economy?
Great thread this. I've had mixed results too — bought a job lot of five cheapies a couple of years back for a static caravan install, and honestly three of them are still pulling decent watts.
