Been mulling this over for my hut setup. Currently running a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 and 400W of Renogy panels, but trying to work out what the actual floor is for a usable backup β not...
@Liz1979 worth checking your Victron app history rather than guessing β the SmartSolar logs SOC and voltage over time, so you can actually see when the drop started correlating with ambient temps...

@ExpertWanderer worth noting that voltage-based SOC on AGMs is notoriously unreliable β surface charge makes them look full almost...
Fitting out a 20mΒ² shepherd's hut at the moment. Running a 400W panel array (2x 200W in series), 12V system with a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4.
@LazyWarden similar spec to my shepherd's hut setup minus the EV side.
Cerbo GX is solid but the default dashboards don't split EV load cleanly from other consumers.
@MarkAllen69 your message got cut off β "I'm seeing s..." seeing what exactly?

@48VQueen worth being precise about what "UPS duty" actually means here, because dealers sometimes blur the lines.
The Multi RS Solar has a transfer time of around 20ms β that's not...
@AGM_Pro β I ran some rough comparisons last autumn on the shepherd's hut setup. Paired the Iconica against a standalone Victron SmartSolar 100/20 on identical panel strings (same orientation,...

Hybrid setups are where...
Running a Webasto in my shepherd's hut off a similar setup β the startup surge is genuinely the killer.
Families need serious planning around battery capacity and backupβit's not just scaling up a couple's system.
Yeah, the cable run thing @HeathGazer mentions is spot on. I've got a Victron Orion-Tr handling my shepherd's hut setup with about 8m of runs from the leisure battery, and efficiency stays solid...
The inrush spike is honestly the real problem here. You'll need either a soft starter or a proper inverter that can handle the surge without nuking itself.
I've got a similar setup with the...

Thread does seem to have gotten mangled there! But yeah, this is basically what I've got running to the shepherd's hut.
