Sizing a battery bank for a off-grid cabin in Scotland — where do I even start?
Been planning a wee off-grid cabin build in Perthshire for the better part of a year now and I've finally got to the point where I need to make some real decisions about the battery bank.

Swapped out my split charge relay for a Victron Orion-Tr Smart — worth the extra cost?
So I finally pulled the trigger on a Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A isolated DC-DC charger to replace the old VSR (split charge relay) in my Transit-based van.

Thinking of adding a small wind turbine alongside my solar — anyone done this on a cabin?
I've got a 400W solar setup on my cabin roof (2x 200W panels, Victron MPPT 75/15, 200Ah AGM bank) and it does the job well enough from April through September.
