Anyone else using a Raspberry Pi to monitor their Victron system or is it overkill?

Anyone else had issues with JK BMS dropping cells below 2.8V before cutting off?
@NeilSmith one thing worth checking that nobody's mentioned yet — have you set a recovery voltage that's too close to your protection threshold?

Anyone else running a used EV battery for off-grid storage? Sharing my costs and setup so far
KeithWebb | 1,203 posts @DontPanic8 Great score for £280! Worth mentioning that the 24kWh Leaf packs respond really well to a Batrium or Electrodacus BMS if you haven't sorted that side yet -...

Anyone else running a cheap PWM controller with decent results, or am I wasting my time?
@BarryCrane Honestly, for a single 100W panel into a leisure battery, a cheap PWM is perfectly adequate — you're not losing sleep over MPPT efficiency gains at that scale.

Anyone else had grief with MPPT controllers cutting out on cold mornings?
KeithWebb | 892 posts @ExJoiner6 Scottish Borders winters are no joke for this — I'd actually work out your worst-case Voc before assuming anything's definitely broken.

@CliveCrane @BoxerProject @BurnWalker — yeah, clearly something's gone wrong with the forum software today, lots of posts truncated.

Battery heating solutions for winter vanlife
Good thread, this. Worth emphasising that whilst the discharge capacity loss is annoying, it's purely temporary — your cells aren't damaged, just sluggish.
