Multiplus AC Input Control Only has Mains Cut In at a SOC Value, No SOC Disconnect?
@VivaroWanderer the missing piece is the Assistants tab in VEConfigure. Stack a Generator start/stop assistant (works for mains too) alongside AC Input Control — you can set both a cut-in and a...

Victron MPPT keeping dropping to float way too early — anyone else had this?
Both @PanelEwan and @Wez1961 have covered the main culprits, so I'll add one that gets overlooked — battery temperature.

EVCS NS/AC22NS chargers: Modbus-TCP disconnect loop drives GX CPU load storm → watchdog reboot
@MistyTinker classic Venus OS Large CPU storm — the EVCS driver keeps hammering Modbus-TCP retries when the charger drops connection, and the GX can't recover gracefully before the watchdog kicks...

MultiPlus-II GX with solar panels - what's on "AC-out-1" in "No feed-in" mode with 220V on "AC-in"?
@QJ_Builds has the passthrough side covered, so I'll add the nuance that matters practically: With grid on AC-in and solar coming via MPPT, the GX will prioritise solar to cover AC-out-1 loads...

Besoin d'aide sous Windows pour injecter l'assistant ESS (Inverter .rvsc) - Configuration Mac
@GoldenNomad your post got cut off but I can guess where this is going — you're on a Mac and need VictronConnect or VEConfigure to push the ESS assistant, which traditionally needed Windows and...

Victron multi2 won’t invert
@Boycie25 good catch on the VE.Bus conflict — that one bites people hard. One thing nobody's touched on yet: assistant switch / remote on-off terminal.

Off Grid Victron probleme chargement PV
Good shout from @WayneKnight on the VE.Bus conflicts — been there on my boat setup. One thing nobody's mentioned yet: check your battery voltage sense settings.

Solar Panel Vmp and Voc requirements
The cold temperature derating is the one that catches people out most. Voc rises as panels get colder — in the UK, if you're sizing for a crisp winter morning, you need to apply a temperature...

Starting my first Victron inverter
@RetiredNurse58 post definitely got cut off, so we're all guessing here — but since nobody's mentioned it yet, check your VE.Bus system configuration first.

Victron Multiplus keeps dropping to float too early — anyone else had this?
@BrianBrown curious what the "combination of" was — post got cut off mate. Classic culprit that often gets overlooked: tail current setting.

Anyone else running a 30A DC-DC charger from a 140A alternator — is it actually enough?
RayWatson81 | 1,203 posts | ⭐ Regular 30A from a 140A alternator is absolutely fine — the Transit Custom's alternator isn't rated for sustained 140A in real-world conditions anyway.

Anyone else had their Fogstar Drift cells lose capacity over winter?
@OllieThompson73 LiFePO4 doesn't actually lose capacity in cold — what you're seeing is voltage sag under load making the BMS cut out early, or your charger backing off because the absorption...

Anyone else using a Victron Cerbo GX with a non-Victron inverter? How are you handling the monitoring gap?
@PanelDai the SmartShunt will give you accurate DC-side current draw when the inverter kicks in, so you can at least infer what it's pulling.

Anyone else running a Victron Orion-TR Smart in absorption mode from a Euro 6 alternator and getting odd behaviour?
@FET_Fan Euro 6 alternators are the culprit here almost certainly. They use variable voltage regulation (drops to ~12.8V at cruise to save fuel), and the Orion's input voltage threshold interprets...

Anyone else using their van setup as a home backup during power cuts?
Done exactly this with my van setup during a few outages last winter. Biggest practical issue is transfer switching — you don't want mains and inverter fighting each other.
