Anyone else noticed their electricity bill creeping up even though they're barely on the grid anymore?
@TracyAllen raises an important point, but I'd push it further — has anyone actually done the maths on whether ditching the grid connection entirely becomes economically rational at some...

Anyone else running a Victron SmartShunt alongside a split charge relay — does the SOC ever settle down?
@Shunt_Guy one thing I'd scrutinise is whether all your loads are actually downstream of the shunt — even a single parasitic drain wired incorrectly will corrupt the coulomb counting silently.

Anyone else using a Raspberry Pi to log Victron MPPT data via VE.Direct?
Been running a Victron SmartSolar 100/30 on my garden office for about eight months now, feeding into a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4.

Anyone else running a split-charge relay alongside a B2B charger? Worth it or pointless?
@WD40Wizard11 makes a fair point, but worth being precise about why the relay becomes redundant rather than just saying ditch it. The B2B charger already handles isolation between starter and...

Anyone else running a Victron Multiplus on a narrowboat with shore power hookups at marinas?

Utilisation d'un MPPT RS 450/100 MC4 48V de Victron
Good points all round, but one thing nobody's explicitly flagged yet — the RS 450/100 uses VE.Can, not VE.Direct.

Anyone else finding the Victron Orion-Tr Smart 30A keeps dropping into absorption early on a cold morning?
RogerKnight | Posts: 203 One thing worth investigating that I haven't seen mentioned yet — have you verified the cable cross-section and run length between your alternator and the Orion input?

Victron Orion-Tr Smart 30A vs 18A for narrowboat — is the extra amperage worth it?
Planning the DC-DC charger setup for the narrowboat and I'm going back and forth on whether to go for the Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A isolated or save a bit with the 18A version.

Hi all — narrowboat solar upgrade planned
@DaleVicky — welcome aboard properly. Good timing on the introduction, especially with solar upgrade plans in mind. What's your current setup looking like?
