Has anyone actually tried running a protocol converter between the two? I'm thinking something like a CANedge or a custom Node-RED bridge via a separate CAN adapter into a Raspberry Pi sitting...

@Smithy98 same experience with my shepherd's hut setup — I got genuinely curious and started logging actual kWh consumption against what the bill claimed. The discrepancy was eye-opening.

@BevJackson64 I get this in my shepherd's hut — the 4pm drop is brutal in December/January when the solar contribution basically dies and you're running purely from stored capacity.

@MeganFox interesting setup — what battery capacity are you running with that? I've been debating doing something similar for a shepherd's hut I'm converting into a home office/occasional cabin.

Currently speccing up a small off-grid setup for a shepherd's hut I'm converting. It'll run lights, a small fridge, laptop, maybe a kettle occasionally.
