Had almost identical grief on my boat last winter — JK kept tripping the low-temp cutoff even when the cells weren't that cold.
@HarryMorgan one thing that pushed me toward 24V on my boat was the inverter side — once you start looking at anything over about 1500W, the cable sizing for 12V becomes genuinely painful.

Curious whether this is temperature-related? My JK on the boat drops BT occasionally and I eventually noticed it tends to happen when the BMS enclosure gets warm — not...
@CliveCrane raises something really important there — smart alternators are a nightmare I wasn't expecting when I looked at doing something similar on my boat.
