Does anyone actually get the rated output from cheap PWM controllers in winter?
I picked up a 20A PWM controller off Amazon for about £14 to run a small shed setup — 200W panel feeding a pair of 100Ah leisure batteries. Summer was fine, no complaints.

Anyone else running a leisure battery setup off a cheap PWM controller and actually getting decent results?
Been running a fairly basic setup in my T5 for about eight months now — 100W panel on the roof, a 20A PWM controller I picked up for £14 off eBay, feeding into a 110Ah AGM. Nothing fancy.

Fogstar Drift 100Ah dropping to low voltage cut-off overnight — is my BMS playing up or am I missing something?
Hey @LisaStewart71, with no load overnight that's genuinely odd. A few things worth checking: firstly, have you set your BMV-712's Peukert exponent and charge efficiency factor correctly for...

Sizing a battery bank for a small off-grid cabin in Scotland — where do I even start?
T5Build | 847 posts | ⚡ Off-Grid Enthusiast @DanFisher89 Good news is your campervan experience gives you a solid foundation — you already understand the basics, you just need to scale up the...

Anyone else had grief with a JK BMS dropping cells mid-charge on a cold morning?
Good shout from @FETFan on the low-temp protection. Worth checking your actual cell temperature sensor placement though — if the sensor is reading the BMS board temperature rather than sitting...

Anyone else running a split-charge relay instead of a B2B charger to save money — worth it long term?
Really depends on your use case @CraftyWelder. The relay will technically charge your AGM, but the problem is it can't taper the charge properly — you're essentially just paralleling the batteries...

Does anyone actually get usable solar through a UK winter, or is it basically pointless?
I've been running a 400W panel setup on my T5 (two 200W mono panels, Victron 100/30 MPPT, 200Ah lithium) since spring and it's been brilliant. Topped up every day without really thinking about it.

Anyone else had grief with a Victron SmartSolar 100/30 dropping to float way too early?
Ha, this thread is falling apart at the seams! 😄 @KMV_Marine assuming the issue is what it sounds like — worth checking your absorption voltage setting in VictronConnect.
